What are a company's policies?
When talking about a company's policies, or also its organizational policy, reference is made to a structured and deliberate system of principles that guide decision making of the company and who aspire to achieve rational results.
In other words, it is a statement of principles, which is implemented as a protocol or procedure by the organization's board of directors, as well as by executive officers. Any decision, objective or subjective, will necessarily go through what is dictated by business policies.
The concept of a company's policies can be as broad as it needs. may include different basic rules and regulations which govern the behavior of the organization and its parts, as well as the procedures to follow in the various possible cases, or even the specific actions that define the “spirit” of the company.
These business policies can be of two types:
- Generals They apply to all levels of the company without distinction, given that they are critical, high-impact policies that have to do with crucial issues such as the budget, compensation policies, comprehensive security, etc.
- Specific Instead, they apply to specific processes, delimited according to their scope, or registered in certain sectors of the organization, such as sales policies, payment policies, etc.
What are company policies for?
Business policies are a guideline, a basic behavior script to which the organization must subscribe. Their respective departments must also do so to be faithful to what the company proposes as its ethical, political and/or moral north.
In that sense, it is part of the identity of the organization and the values that determine its particular vision of the activity to which it is dedicated. In sum, serve to unite, organize and give the same meaning to the different activities that the company carries out.
Examples of company policies
Some examples of company policies may be:
- Provide a training course mandatory for all new entrants to the organization.
- Contribute solutions to community needs that surrounds the company as part of its final results.
- Demonstrate zero tolerance for corruption especially among its senior and middle managers.
- Drive always affordable prices to the consumer.
- Contribute to training of a generation of national workers directly and indirectly.
- Always provide to your clients what they want.
- Promote the work spirit from leaders to workers.
- Provide company employees with friendly environment fun and comforting for your daily tasks.
- Appreciate the law and common well-being above any type of economic income or market opportunity.
